Humility is not sold in stores. Humility is not touted as a hot commodity in today's culture. It is very unlikely that we will see a "Humility Award" given by those whose focus is on rising to the top. God has called his people to focus on virtues that are not of this world. Our focus is on the kingdom of God. And it is in humility that the power of God's kingdom will become manifest through people who belong to him.

God will work in our lives in new ways. The motive is toward spreading the good news of salvation. Salvation came because of the humility of Jesus himself. There is no higher example of anyone willing to go so low. We will see a powerful example of this in the second chapter of Philippians. True believers are exhorted to have the same attitude as that of Jesus.
