Episode Recap – Hunting Wives, Episode 7: “Shooting Star”

This episode dives straight into chaos, scandal, and shocking twists.

We start with a disturbing flashback: Jill gives birth to Brad, and what should be a tender moment spirals into the bizarre when she awkwardly decides to try breastfeeding for the first time. Right away, the show reminds us how unsettling Jill’s character can be.

Meanwhile, suspicion builds around Jill. Sophie and Margo discuss her odd behavior—like keeping shirtless photos of Brad—and begin to believe Jill may be connected to Abby’s death. Their secret kiss adds fuel to Sophie’s already complicated personal life, especially with Jed almost catching them.

At Callie and Johnny’s house, things take a wild turn during a power-shifting bedroom scene, which pushes Johnny to reassert himself at the sheriff’s office. He demands progress on Abby’s case, insisting the team find the real murder site.

Sophie makes a misstep by suggesting to Star that Abby might have been pregnant with Brad’s baby, a conversation that devastates Star. At the same time, Brad grows suspicious of Jill after discovering that she has deleted GPS data and locked down her devices—clear signs that she may be hiding something.

Margo and Sophie continue their secret affair but hit pause as Sophie admits she’s overwhelmed and still committed to Graham.

Detective Salazar zeroes in on Creepy Pete, but before she can pin him down, Pete flees—and shocks everyone by shooting himself. Inside his U-Haul, Nina and Casey Crumwell are found alive, and Nina reveals Pete was obsessed with Abby. But Johnny dismisses Pete as Abby’s killer, pointing instead toward Sophie—especially after trail cam footage shows Sophie arguing with Abby the night she died. Sophie is arrested.

Meanwhile, Star uncovers Abby’s lingerie and confronts Jamie, who admits that Abby and Brad were sleeping together. This revelation sends Star into a spiral, and she storms Jill’s house with a shotgun. Moments later, Margo and Callie arrive to find Star dead on Jill’s kitchen floor. Jill claims self-defense but then pulls a gun on Margo—forcing Callie to shoot her. Jill’s final words? Brutal: “You cunts.”

The episode closes with Sophie in jail, Jill dead, and the Hunting Wives drowning their guilt in tequila.

It’s messy, dramatic, and sets the stage for even more fallout.
