Living in a capitalist society that focuses on profit and personal gain tends to foster a hustle culture that can be toxic and overwhelming at times. Whether you hustle or not, there's no denying that it can consume a person's life and have a significant impact on one's future. In this week's episode, Jeanelle and Ashley sit down with three of their coworkers to understand their perspectives on just that. Chris shares personal anecdotes of how hustle culture has resulted in both positive and negative outcomes as well as the underlying reasons for his strong work ethic. Additionally, he shares his experiences with overworking himself and how his religious beliefs translate into his everyday life as he works to build a reputable family name and become the president of the United States. Luis describes what his life was like growing up in the Dominican Republic around strong hard-working women in addition to his dream of being a professional athlete in the near future. He also opens up about having multiple siblings and how his independence drives him to work harder in his athleticism and staying physically active. Jayden expresses how hustling keeps him busy and on his toes as he works toward becoming more self-sufficient. Also, his philosophy to "pray about it and keep it pushing" and trusting in God's will as he seeks to create a life for his future children that is better than what he had growing up. Plus, toxic productivity, burning the candle at both ends, eastern vs western work cultures, why we hustle, and more. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the boys on a deeper level and we hope you love this episode as much as we do... Enjoy!!
P.S. this episode was filmed outside so please excuse some of the wind you might hear throughout the recording. thank you :)
