Season Finale with a twist: our host is interviewed by acclaimed explorer and Ocean Geographic's Editor in Chief Michael Awe and photographer Alex Rose. Underwater photographer, award-winning film producer and eco-tourism activist, Jorge has been sharing his love for the ocean and its creatures for the past decade. Jorge has worked hand in hand with fishing communities in Baja to develop open ocean tourism as an alternative to fishing, and produced the award winning documentary film México Pelágico. As the Founder and early CEO of Pelagic Fleet, Jorge envisioned, designed, and led the refit of the Socorro Vortex, a 140ft diving vessel and one of the toughest and most ambitious luxury liveaboards out there.
By 22, Michael Muller had established himself as a leading entertainment and fashion photographer. His celebrity portraits of Joaquin Phoenix, Brad Pitt, Jeff Bridges, Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Leonardo Dicaprio, Scarlett Johansson and hundreds of others have graced the pages and covers of magazines including Vanity Fair, Elle, Rolling Stone, Harper's Bazaar, Esquire, and the New York Times Magazine. He has created iconic images for numerous movie posters, including The Avengers, Guardians of The Galaxy, Spiderman, X-men, Hancock, Iron Man, Captain America, and many other films and tv series like 24, Entourage, Sons of Anarchy, Nip Tuck and Spartacus. In the advertising world, he has shot countless campaigns and directed many ads for top brands, as well as music videos.
Howard has directed and Michele has produced underwater IMAX features with a box office total exceeding $200 million dollars. The Hall’s television work has resulted in 7 Emmy awards. Howard is a member of the Directors Guild and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science. Michele is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Women Divers Hall of Fame. They both are recipients of the Academy of Underwater Arts and Sciences’ NOGI Award.
Marine biologist also known as Dr. Baitball, Rick is a four time Emmy and BAFTA award-winning filmmaker that pioneered filming in the open ocean. Rick was one of the main cameramen for high profile series such as NatGeo’s Great Migrations as well as BBC Life, Planet Earth, and Blue Planet. In the big screen Rick was a cinematographer for Disney Nature’s Earth, Bears, and he recently finished his own feature film Whale Wisdom, narrated by the one & only Sir David Attenborough.
Surfer, photographer, shark attack survivor, and shark advocate. He surf’s with a specially designed prosthetic leg, and is often diving with sharks around the world. Mike's been featured on CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS, Discovery, Time Magazine, The Washington Post, National Geographic, BBC, and many others. He is the recipient of the GoPro Hero Award, and has partnered with Canon, GoPro, COACH, PADI, and Costa Del Mar.
Never one to sit still, Kinga Philipps has tested herself for the past 19 years by traveling the globe...scuba diving, free diving, spear fishing, surfing, jumping out of airplanes, spelunking and swimming with sharks as a writer, producer and on camera journalist for networks such as CBS, NBC, ABC, USA, AMC, Travel Channel, Fox Sports, Universal Sports, Food Network, Current TV, Syfy, EPIX and National Geographic.
Emmy and BAFTA winning cinematographer, Roger has worked for major productions such as BBC Life, Life Story, Life in Cold Blood.. pretty much all of BBC’s productions that have the word “life” on the title.
