Pags' Perspective

The Hypocrisy of Sticky Substance Checks in the MLB

Listen Later

During the Cubs-Pirates game in Pittsburgh last night, Cubs pitcher Justin Steele was forced by an umpire to wash his hands after discovering a sticky substance on Steele's hand mid-game.

It's a completely different stance compared to two months ago, when the same umpire threw out Mets closer Edwin Diaz in a similar circumstance, but was not allowed to wash his hands. Diaz was subsequently handed out an automatic suspension for 10 games.

Pags discusses the Steele situation, while also calling out the hypocrisy of MLB's substance checks.
