Tonight our fabulous co-hosts, Paul and Cody, welcome special guest from New Zealand, intersex elder Mani Bruce Mitchell, to the program.  Mani is a storyteller, dreamer, agent of change, educator, queer activist, and a resilient survivor.  At one year of age they were incorrectly identified as a ‘hermaphrodite’ at birth and subjected to laparotomy surgery to change their sex to female.  After more surgeries throughout their early years and with no knowledge or guidance to know otherwise, Mani’s parents raised them as female.

Mani speaks to The I in Us about their early years. They discuss how, later in their life, they have been at the forefront of intersex and LGBTIQA+ activism.  Mani is recognized worldwide for their determination and unrelenting advocacy.  Hear about Mani’s many remarkable accomplishments
