Tonight our fabulous co-hosts, Paul and Cody, welcome return special guest, Ronie, back to the program.
Ronie is a passionate intersex activist and human rights advocate. They have been at the forefront of the fight for intersex rights in Zimbabwe for many years. Also, Ronie founded the Intersex Community Zimbabwe Trust in 2018. In addition, they they gained recognition in 2020 after their contribution to the Zimbabwe National Inquiry on Access to Documentation process. They presented an information note on the Rights of Intersex Persons in Africa to the United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner. Further, Ronie co-produced and presented a Rights of Intersex Women and Girls in Zimbabwe shadow report to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against women.
Ronie came to Australia as an Asylum Seeker in July 2023, after having experienced persecution, hate speech and attempts at being silenced namely because people misunderstood what intersex people are.

Hear about their difficulties navigating Australia’s government, social and support services in order to find security, safety and shelter.
