The Illusion of Bloody Shins

Listen Later

“Earning takes much more effort, much struggle. You’ve got to put in the work, however many years, months, weeks and you’ve been working towards something gives you the opportunity to earn the reward.”

Chris earned the WKA North American Muay Thai title in 2004 just after coming home from the  IFMA World Championships held in Thailand. He talks about the whole experience in detail (the bloody shins) and shares what he thinks is the difference between winning and earning something. In this episode, he shares what he felt like when he won against his opponent, Jason Cutbill, and how important humility is in Muay Thai whether during triumphs or losses. Listen in as Chris and Sarah engage in a discourse about the coaching processes and how humility is strength under control.
