How do I know without a doubt that where I'm at, what I'm going through, what I hear, perceive and experience is really God? Do I respond to God's promises and testimonies of Him with me moving closer to Jesus? Coming to Him with authenticity, letting God be God, without putting any preconceived expectations on Him.

There are prayers that God doesn't answer because our mindset and heart posture isn't in line with God's will. We pray without faith, for selfish reasons or out of self-righteousness. Yet, even when we pray seemingly according to God's will, we sometimes don't see an answer when and how we expect it because we're still missing the whole point of prayer.

What does it mean to "know Christ"? Is it just an informational perceiving or understanding? No, rather in Philippians 3:10 it uses the word that emphasizes coming to know through experience and relationship. And the nature of our relationship with Christ determines how we interact with Him. Is it real, authentic and consistently growing closer?

Our missions group, who just returned from Malawi, share updates and testimonies from their time there. In the few small passages of Apostle Paul's letter where he mentions Tychicus, we see an example of God promoting someone due to their quiet, sometimes unnoticeable faithfulness. And the fact that a Godly faithful messenger carries more than just the message, but also the heart of the message and its author.

A lot of modern Christianity has quietly become a kind of Christianity where we choose to live with illusions, avoiding the reality of the cost of the Gospel and of our calling. Apostle Paul shows us in Ephesians that he acknowledges the reality of his chains and suffering as a result of his calling, yet his prayer request still wasn't "get me out" but it was "don't let me go silent in here."

There are many myths that we tend to believe over time about prayer. Yet, the Scriptures help dispel these myths. We are called to pray in the Spirit on every occasion, meaning we don't have to figure it out, the Holy Spirit figures it out with and through us. Also to pray persistently, staying alert to what God wants to do, and be specific in our prayers as an act of specific faith.
