The Immortal Jellyfish
The Immortal Jellyfish or The Turritopsis Dohrnii is a creature that is found in most oceans around the world. The unique thing about this tiny jellyfish is its ability to live forever. It was first discovered in the Mediterranean Sea in the 1880s, but as I stated earlier it can now be found in most oceans around the world.
It starts life as a larva known as "Panula" which sinks to the ocean floor and grows into cylindrical colonies know as "Polyps" these Polyps then spawn these tiny jellyfish with grow to maturity over the course of 4 to 5 weeks, and measure only 4.5 mm at maturity. Once they have reached maturity (if faced starvation or if suffered an injury) they can sink to the ocean floor and start the development process all over again.
