He has masters and doctoral degrees in organization and management and has spent more than thirty years consulting to large and small organizations in Europe and the Americas. He divides his time between Portsmouth, England and West Palm Beach, Florida.
Sarah L. Brightwood is the president of Rancho La Puerta, a world-renowned wellness resort and spa. She reflects on her upbringing and the privilege of being raised by a village in a nurturing and joyful pace of life. Sarah has the role of a dedicated healer with a profound connection to the land of the ranch, stewarding both the people and the flora/fauna with a spiritual touch. Meet Sarah Brightwood
Sarah L. Brightwood is the president of Rancho La Puerta, a world-renowned wellness resort and spa located in Baja, California, Mexico. She is the daughter of the founders of the Ranch, Deborah Szekely and Edmond Szekely. Sarah spoke Spanish before English and was lovingly cared for by the Mexican families working at the Ranch. She continues the family legacy of tending to the same land for almost 90 years and continues to oversee major upgrades at the Ranch that have kept up with changing times. During the COVID lockdown, they worked on a huge project called The Residence, which is an eco-village that’s designed to support health and wellbeing.
Dr. Mehrad Nazari is a consultant, teacher, facilitator, and speaker. Through teaching, Nazari had an eye-opening experience that led to a strong interest in the concept of negotiation. His interest, partnered with his exposure to such a diverse student body, led him to write on the subject.
The lack of awareness of what negotiation is has influenced how he looks at the subject. Interestingly, through his own life experiences, Dr. Nazari has drawn parallels with simple concepts and yoga practices, and the art of negotiation. Dr. Nazari has helped thousands of people worldwide elevate their personal and professional interactions by enhancing their negotiation skills.

Gerrard Schmid is President and CEO of Diebold Nixdorf, a role he has held since February 2018. Prior to joining Diebold Nixdorf he served as chief executive officer of D+H Corporation, a $1.7 billion global fintech company. Under his leadership from 2012 to 2017, the company evolved to a global leader in real-time payments and lending software. He joined D+H in 2007 as president and CEO of the company’s Filogix business unit. Prior to D+H, he managed a $3 billion retail banking business at Lloyds TSB in the United Kingdom. From 2001 to 2005, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer for retail banking at CIBC, one of the “Big Five” Canadian banks. In 1997 he joined McKinsey and Company, Inc., working across financial services, e-commerce and technology before joining CIBC. He began his career in finance at Citibank in 1995. Mr. Schmid is currently a member of the Advisory Board of Difenda, Toronto, Canada (a cyber security company).
