“When children are exposed to conflict, they have a tendency to blame themselves,” Rosalind said. “So when they hear parents yelling at each other, disrespecting each other, putting each other down or giving each other the silent treatment—children are exposed to a family home environment that’s tense and not warm, it affects them emotionally.”
