Grace is often looked at as a passive response from God toward sin - almost a shrug of the shoulders coupled with an "Oh Well!" Psalm 51 begins with an acknowledgment of God's grace and then proceeds to illustrate the impact that grace has on the psalmist's perspective of sin, himself, and God.
