Elections, ultimately, are about the citizens and voters. In a political and media context, we look at elections as being about the winners and their agendas. In an interesting article from the R Street Institute's Matt Germer, the spotlight is also focused on those who lose elections. Why do their words and behaviors in defeat matter? That's the focus of this discussion. Germer says admitting a defeat does not mean admitting policies or principles failed but it does mean participating in a crucial part of our republic: the peaceful transfer of power.
