Practicing medicine in the southeastern United States presents unique challenges for healthcare professionals. The South's heavily rural population and limited resources require medical professionals to be more resourceful in their approach to providing quality care. SMA's Southern Medicine Podcast addresses these issues by drawing on the experience of healthcare leaders who provide a multispeciality, interdisciplinary team approach to medicine for the purpose of providing better care for the Southern patient population.
