Today we talk with GWSPH associate professor Monica Ruiz about her recent study on the benefits of syringe exchange programs. Over ten years Monica analyzed HIV cases in Philadelphia and Baltimore and found that syringe exchange programs prevented over 12,000 new cases of HIV.
