This episode of BUSTED focuses on the crazy ways criminals are trying to get drugs into Australia. There are weird ways organised criminals try to smuggle illegal products into Australia, Heath and Rohan discuss some recent news stories that show the drastic steps people will take to make money off people’s misery and the clever police tactics used to make sure the cops are always one step ahead of the crooks.
Victorian police seize over $80 million worth of meth in liquid form, concealed in an oil shipment from Mexico, raising concerns that the shipment might be linked to dangerous overseas cartels. The bottles of liquid meth were concealed amongst unsuspecting bottles of canola oil.
Two men have been caught trying to smuggle MDMA in…wait for it…cans of tomatoes. The massive international investigation was able to lead the cops to seize 850kg of the drug – enough to make 15,000,000 ecstasy tablets. Festival goers will have to find another way to indulge in their hedonistic habit which thankfully was caught at the border before killing any more victims.''
Cops are again cracking down on illegal tobacco. Two Victorians Men have been questioned in relation to a raid of a shop allegedly selling illegal tobacco. Find out how the ABF allegedly caught these guys out and more stories here.
And from the inconspicuous to the outright blatant. A couple of Muppets from Sydney thought it was a good idea to stamp their nicknames on blocks of cocaine! Abbas Hijazi is the alleged ringleader of this operation working out of Sydney and Wollongong, who police accuse is connected to the Bandidos bikie gang. Alongside him arrested was a plumber from Revesby Heights, Ibrahim Kansou and a ‘Gucci slide’ wearing alleged drug dealer named James Booth.
