The Impossible Burden

I spent my Valentine’s night talking to Len Pettis, co-host of the Bible Thumping Wingnut podcast. It was great! We started off talking about what we did with our wives for Valentine’s Day. Then we played a new game called “Lamentations or Taylor Swift?” in which we find out that Len hasn’t read Lamentations in a while (or regularly listens to Taylor Swift).

Afterwards we got to our main topic: evangelism. Len does much open-air evangelism so we talk about that as well as talk about Christian shirts, signs, and tracts.

We talked about Arminianism’s impossible burden when it comes to evangelism: the responsibility of saving every soul from hell. Len takes us through TULIP and the five solas to show us how Calvinism is the only consistent doctrine and hope we have when sharing the gospel.
