On this inaugural episode, Eric sets off to The Improv Retreat, an annual summer event in the woods of Wisconsin that's part comedy workshop, part spiritual getaway. Upon returning, Eric and improvisers Thomas Clune and Michael Boothby, as well as sex-positive champion Chris Pent discuss the retreat and its many happenings. This leads to a debate about the fundamental differences between the scripted and solo nature of standup vs. the improvised and communal nature of improv performance. We eventually dig into nuances such as consent in scenes, and of course what may or may not go down in the fabled Gables Up cabin. We'd love to hear your comments, questions, and suggestions for things to do.
