Comedy legend and author Steven Wright stops by the show and Jason captivates him with a point-by-point breakdown of the Grimace Mets and all the baseball weirdness going on this season in Queens. Then they talk about the highs and lows of being a Red Sox fan and Wright's fantastic novel, "Harold" before the stand-up gives us his own signature home run call.
Comedian and Cubs fan Roy Wood Jr. stops by to talk about his new podcast about Rickwood Field in Alabama, the Negro Leagues, the perfect ballpark food strategy, baseball movies to avoid, and a hilarious rundown of the greatest scandal in sports history.
'Bronx Zoo 90' director D.J. Caruso stops by to talk about his new docuseries on the pre-dynasty Yankees, the shocking culture of that era, and George Steinbrenner's complicated legacy before he and Jason debate the merits of 'Field Of Dreams.' Plus, John Mulaney stars in the latest 'Baseball Weirdness' with his own defense of that Kevin Costner classic.
Jason sits down with Baltimore Orioles legend Adam Jones to open this new chapter of the In The Gap Podcast. Adam dishes on his California roots, his love for West Coast Hip-Hop, baseball crowds, and the modern media landscape in the game.
Host Jason Tabrys tells you what to expect from the newest show to the Just Baseball podcast network.
On the latest episode, I'm joined by John DeMarsico, the director for SNY's Mets broadcasts and an avid movie fan. We're breaking down some of the key Mets broadcast moments from last season, from Jacob deGrom's "Simple Man" return to the Kill Bill cam and Edwin Diaz' Narco entrance. We also discuss the magic of Gary, Ron, and Keith, learning from the legendary Bill Webb, and we get an insider's read on the state of baseball broadcasting before nerding out about 2022's best films.
"I say to Gary, Keith and Ron, 'I may pump in a little bit more PA than usual here,' just to give them a heads up. They said, 'Oh, that's great. Do you want us to say anything?' Gary said. I left that up to them, and then Ronnie goes, 'What are we going to do, give stats?' So that was their cue to just lay out. As soon as that first chord hit from that song, we all knew in the truck that this was going to be a pretty special moment."

Film critic (New York Times, The Atlantic) and baseball movie expert Noah Gittell takes time out from researching his upcoming book on the history of baseball movies to talk about a collection of great, curious, and underwhelming baseball films and TV shows.
From Moneyball to monkeyball (the awful '90s Matt LeBlanc starring film, Ed), Little Big League, The Sandlot, The Scout, and the deeper meaning behind some of the earliest examples of the form, we're going deep on the films that have defined the game on-screen. This before talking about Noah's recent NYT article on SNY's tremendous Mets broadcasts, and why it's OK to reject baseball tribalism especially when the on-field product sucks.
“Oh, well he’s a die-hard… well stop trying to kill me with your really awful decision-making.”
Pulitzer prize-winning comic artist and highly opinionated and knowledgeable Mets fan Josh Adams stops by to wax nostalgic about the 2022 Mets before talking about what comes next for the team.
This time, Jason is joined by author and Ken Caminiti biographer Dan Good to discuss his book, Playing Through The Pain, Ken Caminiti's defiant and ultimately tragic life, what it was like to grow up as a Rangers fan, and the ever-expanding shared legacy of steroids and baseball.
You can follow Dan here.
New York Times best-selling author and former Sports Illustrated reporter Jeff Pearlman stops by to talk about the joys of watching baseball games from a distance. Then he and Jason discuss how the ideological makeup of MLB locker rooms impacts how much (or how little) baseball player's say publicly about social issues.
