It's 2002 and Rishen Shekhar is standing in a small hotel on the outskirts of Brisbane, calling his parents back home in Malaysia.
And he feels like he's made a terrible mistake.
What follows is an incredible international education story, and one that belongs to one of the industry's favourite people.
Rishen is now best known as the Director of Global Recruitment and Engagement at UniSA, and I loved this conversation. Even though I've spent many hours with Rishen over the years, I loved all the stories and anecdotes that came up that I'd never heard before.
One of the things I've always appreciated about Rishen is how generous he is with his knowledge and his time. But this conversation is a great reflection of his humour, storytelling and passion for international education.
