I got the opportunity to spend quality time with the black women in my family to learn who they are as individuals. In that time, I discovered how all of our experiences mirrored each other. I began to think about the impact of the black matriarch and how it greatly influences how black men/women interact. Their influence helped to shape our ideas and how we move in society.
