The INFLUENCER Marketing Scam!

Listen Later

For Season 5, episode 12, Josh and Casey discuss modern social media influencers, the impact they've had, and also how little influence many of them actually have. Starting out with the basics the guys define what an influencer actually is and some statistics of just how prevalent/influential they are both in the U.S. and internationally. Then Josh asks about what the biggest influencer platform is as well as which platform has the most garbage content. This sparks a conversation on what type of influencers are the worst as well as the harm they may be inflicting on their viewers. Next, the guys react to some terrible influencer content and wonder how these people are getting their views. Finally, Casey discusses if/how these influencers will survive before going over the racial inequity in influencing as well as the potential salaries of being an influencer.
