The Insidious Impact of Anxiety & Panic
In this episode, Kirk and I share our experience with anxiety and panic attacks.
Panic attacks and anxiety is no joke—when you're in the midst of a panic attack, death seems imminent and fear overcomes the mind, body, and physical senses. A spiral of negative thoughts can overtake us and cause us to freak the fuck out. 99% of the time, there is NO legitimate physiological issue and the episode is simply a manufactured story the ego is telling us which we choose to entertain and empower.
Anything can set off anxiety, and it's different for everyone. Stress manifests in WEIRD ways, sometimes. However, panic, anxiety, and even stress are fear-based emotions manifesting in an outward level, all brought about by the thoughts, beliefs, actions, circumstances, and scenarios we choose to empower with our energy. We are responsible for choosing fearlessness and love at all times! We also know it's not always so simple and that's easier said than done.
What causes anxiety in the first place? Where does panic stem from? How can we cope with anxious thoughts and eventually heal ourselves from the causes? How can we reduce severity and frequency of panic attacks? How can we do the inner work necessary to unveil the cause(s) of such feelings of fear?
