Calling from his current base in New Zealand, we talk about his journey so far - both musically and geographically.
Ryan tells us about his adventures busking in Berlin, and trying to make a living from that, as well as busking his way through 20 countries to date..
We talk musical influencesl influences and transitioning from the folk singer-songwriter scene into Berlin’s renowned electronic music scene and how this change led him to start his own new project - Beacon Bloom.
Ryan describes the project as fitting broadly into the genres of electronica and melodic house music, and there’s a multitude of elements and influences that can be heard in the band’s sound. We also touch on Intentional Events in Christchurch and what other collaboartive events are happening in the local arts scene.
Ryan’s also a podcaster and The Good Timeline is where he attempts to examine Transhumanism through every possible lens. He’s spoken to Harvard professors, scientists, musicians and artists about their respective fields, life, and humanity.
