Austra started as a bedroom project by Toronto’s Katie Stelmanis, but with Austra‘s second record Olympia, the project has blossomed into a full blown band collaboration and travelling family!

When I caught up with Katie backstage at the Commodore Ballroom, we were both a bit sick, but we still managed to have an excellent chat about everything from writing increasingly personal lyrics to female objectification in the music industry to bathhouses.
