Tracking down Ryder from Toronto band Mohawk Lodge is no easy task. The guy is constantly touring, recording, or working for his label White Whale Records.

The first time I caught Ryder, he was in the bathroom. (No, he was not taking a dump, he was recording in there.) The second time, he was about to get on stage in Montreal. Third time is always a charm. This time, I caught him on his bike, heading to meet White Whale Records artist Eamon McGrath in Toronto’s Trinity Bellwoods Park.

The story behind Mohawk Lodge‘s record Crimes is one that stirs the mind. The album tells the tale of how Ryder found his girlfriend in bed with a (now ex) band member.
