The Interview Show with The Gay Nineties #195

Listen Later

I met the Gay Nineties in their east Vancouver practice space. It was a bring your own cup and growler party and after a few beers things quickly got crazy and hilarious.
Vancouver's favorite rock 'n' rollers Gay Nineties began as three good friends Parker Bossley (vocals/lead), Daniel Knowlton (bass/vocals) and Malcolm Holt (drums). They released the EP Coming Together in 2011, but felt they had achieved their full potential as a three piece, so they added Bruce Ledingham (keys) and eventually released a new EP Liberal Guilt in 2015.
After a few beers we discuss: becoming blood brothers, Prince's tambourine, being asked if they are gay all the time, adding a wrestler to the band, getting inspired by Link Ray "Rumble" (an instrumental piece banned from radio in the 60's for being too erotic), why it took so long in between EPs, Paul McCartney's WINGS, and more. Listen to our crazy chat.
