The former University Hospital of the West Indies Medical Chief of Staff, Professor Trevor McCartney, says the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Marion Bullock Ducasse did not speak the truth when she said the Health Ministry was informed of the ongoing infection outbreak at the hospital on October 16.

Addressing a Jamaica House media briefing last week, Dr. Ducasse said she received correspondence from the university hospital on September 7 regarding cases of infection which had taken place there.

But Dr. Ducasse says the correspondence sent to her by UWI did not refer to any current cases.
