Bad things can sometimes happen to good people, especially when it comes to things that we don't quite understand. In the first story, 2 boys wander off into the forest and stumble upon a group of Chinese Deity statues besides an abandoned shrine, in particular an inverted statue of the God of Wealth. Being good-natured, the boys set the statue upright and even put up an offering, only to later learn that the original deity had long gone.

In the second, a widower grieving the loss of her husband receives a check of $5k from his boss to compensate for the large amount of overtime hours clocked. Knowing full well that this was well below the actual number of overtime he had committed, the widower begins to suspect that something is amiss, and even receives a helping hand to set things straight.
