Timeless story with great narration
I listened to "The Most Dangerous Game" and liked the narrator so found "The Island of Dr. Moreau" read by the same narrator.
I read the book long ago. It is a great story read well...
Long time favorite
Would you listen to The Island of Dr. Moreau [Classic Tales Edition] again? Why?
I've read this many time but this is the first audio that does the story justice. Harrison's voice and tone are perfect for this book. A personal favorite, but not much action. Harrison tells the story the way I hear it in my mind when I read the text.
Which scene was your favorite?
The first chapter, the explanation of what is about to occur.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. This is a tale to be enjoyed in small segments.
Worth checking out
I didnt like it a ton at first, but it builds pretty quickly and turned into a pretty enjoyable read. I originally only knew this story from the 90s film, but definitely think this is a vastly superior version.
This audiobook really draws you in
I was very impressed with B J Harrison's narration. He is very good when it comes to creation the voices of the "creatures" . It raises a great many ethical and theological issues. HG Wells was a genius. Such sublime writing. Very exciting. At times it was also quite scary. Dystopia at its best!
Excellent
A really good example of the author's work. Utterly compelling and believable. I love this story.
