You see whether we are like the young man who probably bounce from church to church to see if he can find someone who's preaching: That God don't want 10% just give him a nice offering. Or give such a donation that you can dictate to the pastor what you want to hear. By prompting the pastor saying you know I would like to hear a sermon about this or  about that, you know the Itchy ear prompt. Then just tossed in whatever you feel was cool, as people in the church had never seen big money dropped in the basket like that before, so they'll pat him on the back and say very good brethren. Remember God has only ask for 10% Plus an offering throughout Bible history when this gentleman met Jesus, the Lord told him to sell all that he had and give to the poor. Wow all??
Yes all, Not because God was breaking His own rule but this young man's
money was separating his heart from God, that's why Jesus asked him to sell everything he had and give to the poor and follow him. Let me tell you; old preachers who wish to preach the Word of God, as written in the bible might be getting their pink slip as we get closer to the end of time as men & women wants a gospel that fits the way they live. They want to hear things that tickle their ears or soothe their itchy ears. They don't want to listen to sound doctrine, they don't want to hear the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help them God. They want to hear what feels good, what make them happy, that which allows them be able to boast about who they are, what they own, their wealth and self worship.
