On this episode of The Fertile Life, Dr. Ghadir interviews and speaks with one of his favorite patients, Virginia Thornton (@babyginny), entrepreneur, owner and founder of the wellness studio Get Well Soon, and mother to baby Nigel. Virginia and Dr. Ghadir both detail their personal journeys to parenthood, what the IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization) process entails for couples, and what they both learned along the way. Virginia explains that it was actually her husband, musical artist Pusha T (@kingpush), that urged her to see Dr. Ghadir, and how when she finally decided to see a fertility doctor, it took so much of the stress out of planning for her first baby. Virginia also shares what was important for her when choosing a fertility specialist and clinic, and why she is so happy that she froze embryos for the future to use if and when she decides to try for another child. Dr. Ghadir and Virginia explain the many various treatment options available for intended parents, in addition to IVF. Dr. Ghadir details him and his wife’s own path to becoming parents to their four children, how it wasn't always an easy one, and why IVF was the right choice for their family. Dr. Ghadir and Virgina both share the same belief that the fertility process is much easier when your partner or spouse is on the same page as you. Virginia also discusses the wellness sanctuary she founded, Get Well Soon, and what an integral role self care rituals like meditation, sound baths, and sauna helped play in getting her through fertility treatments, motherhood, and helping her anxiety.
