Alex Salter, Young Voices Contributor, joins The Jeff Kennedy Show to discuss his op-ed: 'Consumer Prices Fall in March'. Alex Salter gives his input on if the Fed is striking the right balance between controlling inflation and avoiding recession; a divergence between interest rate data and money supply growth; M2 growing faster than money demand while inflation stays relatively the same; and what smart citizens and small business owners here in Northern Arizona should be watching the most closely. 

Jeff and Monica are joined in studio with Young Voices contributor, Sam Raus, to discuss his latest op-ed, 'Going Once, Going Twice: Let's Auction Some Broadband America'. Sam Raus touches on the argument that the federal government can't adapt fast enough to market forces, and his thoughts on privatizing spectrum access to help solve that problem. Raus says that this will offset expenses of the government and therein allow companies to use spectrum. We cover the idea that the government is sitting on a huge portion of underused broadband spectrum, and the question of 'how do we ensure spectrum auctions don't end up empowering adversaries like China?' Raus states that real reform looks like actual legislation being passed.

Jeff and Monica visit with Flagstaff Vice Mayor Miranda Sweet to discuss Bike to Work Week, Adam Shimoni receiving the brick award from FBO and the Market of Dreams' soft opening on Saturday May 17th. We also touch on the absence of regional childcare resources and the impacts, and Miranda Sweet discusses how the concept of Flagstaff being a 'childcare desert' and what that means for local families with infants and toddlers. Sweet goes over the conversation of e-bike access on the Greater Observatory Mesa Area Trail Plan and what residents can expect as the trail plan moves forward.

Tom Horne joins The Jeff Kennedy Show to discuss his comments regarding Katie Hobbs vetoing legislation on pronoun use and school facility access. Horne covers his thoughts on the core message of this bill that was sent to schools and families. Horne has stated that the bill promoted "common sense" and "protected girls' privacy", and states that he does not feel as though the dignity of endangered transgender youth should be damaged, either. 

Jeff and Monica visit with Young Voices contributor, Satya Marar, to discuss his view on the DRUG Act and how it could backfire. Satya covers the common misconceptions and misunderstandings behind the legislation, and responds to the claim that PBMs drive up drug prices by favoring higher-cost drugs to get bigger rebates. Critics say PBMs lack transparency and sometimes don't pass on savings, Satya responds to that claim. 

Jeff and Monica visit with Head of Flagstaff Christian School - Dr. Ruddell - to discuss the victory of her 2004 Gold Medal Team are now inducted into the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Hall of Fame. One memorable moment for Dr. Ruddell included beating Canada after losing to Australia. Dr. Ruddell discusses how her Paralympic experience has shaped her leadership style as Head of School, and how much grit, strategy and elite athleticism is involved in wheelchair basketball.
