States like Georgia and Texas are announcing that it's time to reopen. These are states with major cities, Houston, Austin, Atlanta. But they're wide open spaces. The numbers aren't anything to take lightly, but in places like New York and New Jersey, the number case cases and deaths are starting to look staggering. They're small states with very dense populations. It could be that they've made testing more accessible, making the number of cases more accurate than other places in the country, but we need to consider that a lot of us are taking this pandemic a lot more lightly than those places being hit the hardest. My friend Cassandra attempted to make the long trip home back to New Jersey, only for her family to tell her to keep moving because it might be just about the most dangerous place in the world to be at the moment.
