In Mark’s Gospel, Jesus is constantly touching people. Not to mention, Jesus touches all the people he’s not supposed to be touching. According to the purity codes of his culture, rabbis are the clean people, they’re the ones who are supposed to be leading leaders into greater understanding of what it qualifies a person to be in God’s presence.
