In this reflection I consider differentiated and contested love within the context of Christianity. The Jews were God's "chosen" people and the Gentiles, by way of Jesus as a sacrificial offering, were grafted in. While they were included, they never unseated the notion of the *chosen. The chosen remained...giving me a wondering of how this story compares to the narcissistic family structure (no disrespect intended).
Additional themes: Sibling rivalry; Parental power and abuse; and Intergenerational trauma.
