Republicans in DC have morphed into capitulating “yes” men for the socialist left. Protectionist trade policy is symptomatic of that. Does anyone who yaps about trade deficits actually know what they are? These tariffs are simply a government subsidy for an industry that’s making its best profits in 4 decades. Unions are government sanctioned American communism. It’s not the fault of the little guys working their tails off. It’s the fault of the corrupt system which uses government power to protect those unions. Communism and socialism in any guise, always leads to the same disastrous end.
