Lucas Doll grew up in Nuremberg, Germany and decided during university to start learning Chinese and when it came time for him to decide where he wanted to do his exchange, he chose to go to Taiwan. Nastassja Wendel was born in Munich, Germany but migrated to Brazil at age 10 where she lived for 10 years in Morro de São Paulo, a village on an island off the coast of Brazil. Taking a boat everyday to go to school and living on the coast overlooking the ocean, it's easy to say, her teenage years were very different to 'normal'. In this episode, Kevin features one of his great friends and current flatmate Hanz, where they talk about their shared experiences in the last four years. Both Hanz and Kevin come from Trinidad and Tobago, a small twin island nation in the Caribbean. They discuss the transition they experienced, leaving their home to move to a different country, culture and language. They touch on both the challenges and rewards of doing things outside of their comfort zone.
