Running Tales

The joy and pain of ultra running

Listen Later

In recent weeks on the Running Tales podcast we've spoken to a number of ultra runners about their fantastic stories.
Today, we've decided to do something slightly different with the podcast, taking time to look back at our archives to pick out some pearls of wisdom from ultra runners we have previously spoken to.
This episode includes audio from Comrades marathoner Deon Elhers, Benjamin Davies - who has learned to love ultra racing after facing mental health issues, and Martin Lopez - who has gone from intensive care battling Covid to completing five ultras; as well as Menna Evans, Brendon Rendall and Emma Timmins, all three of whom have completed incredible challenges and ran across continents.
We looked at how they got into ultra running, and why it is so special to them.
