Luke 1:30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary,

you have found favor with God. 31 You will be with child and

give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The

Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he

will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never

end.”

John 19:25 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his

mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom

he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Dear woman,

here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.”

From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

The joys and anxieties of a mother

1. Angel Gabriel promised & created expectation

2. A sudden journey before Mary could give birth

3. Simeon & Anna awaited the promised Messiah

4. Mary & Jesus are present a Wedding at Cana

5. Mary had to put up with the anguish of her son

6. Mary was with her son all the way to the cross
