Publisher's Summary:
Agnes Makepeace has always been courageous and strong-minded. On the surface, she couldn't be more unlike the chilly, reserved Helen Spencer. Agnes knows her background is a mystery and believes that the key to the secret lies with her husband's employer, Judge Zachary Spencer of Lambert House: a mean-spirited widower. Judge Spencer has long neglected his daughter, Helen, and notices her even less when he takes a new wife. But he has underestimated the extent of his daughter's misery and her determination to enact her revenge. Helen's new-found confidence has a shocking impact on both families and, surprisingly, leads to a lifelong friendship with Agnes.

Twists and Turns
Excellent book, characters (except one! you'll know which one I mean) very endearing, straight forward and understandable, lots of surprises, many I didn't see coming. In the second half, couldn't put it down!
The Judges Daughter
A perfect audio book, I loved it from the first word to the last. I enjoyed each idividual character they made me laugh and also cry, I am now listening to Ruth Hamiltons sugar and spice this is also compeling. Long may Ruth Hamilton write, she creates sheer joy.
the judges daughter.
Any additional comments?
it took a while to get into this story but once Helen (the judge's daughter) came on the scene the book became riveting. the book starts and ends in 2004 and goes back 20 years to 1964 in between.
as usual ruth Hamilton writes strong female and male characters, agnes and Helen, dennis and the judge, all performed well by marlene sideway.
ruth Hamilton is one of my favourite authors and hasn't let me down.
. recommend all the books I have listened to by her.
