You’re parked in the school pickup line. You feel perfectly fine. Then the kids get in the car and all of a sudden you’re exhausted, you’re starving; maybe you’re angry and you have no idea why.
That’s intuition.
That’s energetic information - your intuition connecting with your kids, picking up what they’re carrying. It might not even be guidance. It’s just information. And most of us have no idea what to do with it.
So today I’m going to give you a win. Five steps. By the end of this, you’ll go boop, boop, boop - and you’ll be able to recreate it and connect with your intuition right here, right now.
You don’t have too little intuition
I promise you, you have it. In fact, the more you feel like you don’t have it, the stronger your gift often is. The problem isn’t too little. It’s too much - too many sources, too many connections, for a lot of different reasons.
And when there’s that much and we don’t have a system, we get confused. We don’t know the source. So we do what I used to do 25 years ago - shut it down, push it away. I didn’t even know that’s what it was.
That’s why intuition needs to be organized.
Your intuition is a messy closet
Think about your closet. You go in there every day to get dressed. If it’s messy and you have time, fine - you can dig around and find the thing.
But now you’re running late. The kids are late for school. You need that one shirt, and you can’t find anything.
Untrained intuition is exactly like that. When nothing’s at stake, you can take your time and kind of feel around for it. But when you need specific guidance - right now - it’s very hard to find when it’s scattered and you don’t even know where the thing is.
We already know this about the rest of our lives. We’re calmer when our physical space is organized, when there’s food in the refrigerator and maybe it’s already cooked and ready to go.
The same is true with our emotions. In my day, we didn’t get to have feelings. I was either neutral or I was full of rage. Then I became a parent, and I realized my children would naturally have more textured feelings - and I needed access to those textures too, so they could be safe in my presence having emotions. I had to learn it. I went to therapy. I read the books. I practiced the scary thing - admitting I wasn’t okay, admitting I needed help.
Your intuition is the same. When it’s organized, you can handle the big change. You can handle the bump in the road. You can handle huge grief, in yourself and in others, because you know where your guidance is.
Intuition is who you are
Your intuition is the language of your soul. You are a soul. We come from another dimension to have this physical experience - and that dimension speaks intuition.
Those intuitions are your Clairs. (I’m sorry, it’s Clairs, but that is what we call it.) To simplify, you experience all intuition through see, feel, know, or hear:
* Clairvoyance - you see it.
* Clairsentience - you feel it.
* Claircognizance - you just know it. It’s a download. It’s fast. You know to turn left. You know your friend is sad. You know you need to go pick up your kid right now.
* Clairaudience - you hear it. Untrained, it all sounds like your thinking voice. Trained, you go, wait, wait, wait - that wasn’t me.
“You can’t get guidance for yourself” is not true
What I hear most often is: I can read everybody else under the sun, but I can’t get guidance for myself. There are literally professionals who say God made it that way.
That is 100% not true. That’s just someone who doesn’t understand the mechanics - and maybe they’re fabulous at guiding others. But I would never take guidance from somebody who can’t live a guided life, no matter how talented they are. If they can’t use their own guidance to heal from their past, make good decisions, and keep their head held high through the hard things we all go through, I would not follow them. We must be living examples.
I had a really hard childhood. No confidence, no voice. I had huge psychic experiences, but I was raised in the day when you were just imagining things. When I began working professionally in 2007 and could say what I was seeing and get evidential validation from strangers, I was never satisfied with just being able to do it. I wanted to understand. How did I know that? How am I seeing your loved one on the other side? How did I know you were moving to Oregon in June - and you did?
The answer was always the same. It came through a Clair. I either saw it, felt it, knew it, or heard it.
That’s the mechanics. Now here’s your win.
5 ways to organize your intuition today
1. Notice what keeps recurring
What keeps coming back? A feeling, over and over? An image? Something you keep knowing but don’t understand, so you shelve it? A feeling you keep pushing away with I don’t feel that way, I’m fine?
In 2016, I kept seeing the ocean in my mind. A good friend kept talking about wanting to go to the ocean, so I assumed it was about her. Two months later, my family moved to California. We moved to the ocean. I didn’t even bother asking - and it was guidance for me.
What’s the thing that keeps gnawing at you?
2. Name the Clair
Put a Clair to it.
* I keep seeing it - clairvoyance.
* I keep feeling it - clairsentience. That is information.
* I keep knowing it - I just know I’m going to move to New York. I just know someone important is coming into my life. Claircognizance.
* I keep hearing it - call your sister. Call your sister. Sit still. Go to the doctor. Take this course. That’s clairaudience, even when it sounds like your thinking voice.
You don’t have to have it all figured out yet. Just notice.
3. Sense the source
Now sense outside of yourself. Where is this coming from? Is it your thinking voice? If so, pay attention to what your brain has to say. Is it your grandmother on the other side? A guide? God? An angel? (Angels are telepathic - they’re not chatty, but if you’re in danger particularly, they’ll get through.)
If you keep seeing New York - is that a guide? Is your grandmother talking to you about New York? Is that knowing coming from God?
4. Label it
A lot of us were raised not to judge, not to label. With your intuition, I want you to label it.
I feel like I’m being guided to go to New York. I feel like God is telling me to step into leadership. This is my mother on the other side, encouraging me to date.
This is the closet. High heels. Ballet flats. Black shirts. Red shirts. We put things in categories so that when you actually need them, you know exactly where they are.
5. Write it down - and test it
Get it out of your head and onto paper, where it becomes more three-dimensional and you can use your rational mind to look at it. Is there any logic behind it?
Then take a small action. See if New York is really on the horizon. See if dating is something you want to do. (One note: opinions from loved ones on the other side are just that — opinions. Guidance from your guides, we follow. That’s a whole other conversation.)
If you keep getting call your sister, write it down and call your sister. I hope it’s not always something extreme - if it is, we’ve really not been paying attention. More often than not, when I get call your friend, I check in and sure enough, they’re sad. Or they’re in the middle of a big life decision. Maybe you just need to be there for them. Or they can be there for you.
You don’t need to know the reason in this moment.
Take intuition off its pedestal
Everybody has it. Everybody uses it. So why not know where and how it works within you?
Organize it. Normalize it, just like your emotions, just like your closet. This is natural. This is easy once you understand the mechanics, and I promise you, you too get to live a guided life.

Welcome, I’m Kate Saint Clair; human intuition expert, psychic medium, author. And if you’re already here on my Substack or at katesaintclair.com, you know all that. But I wanted to say it again anyway, because today’s for the ones of you who are newer, who’ve felt that nudge, that curiosity, that “okay, I think it’s finally time” feeling about your intuition — and I want you to walk away actually getting it, not just feeling inspired for twenty minutes and then forgetting why.
Your Intuition Was Never Broken, You Just Speak Through Your Clairs
Okay, real talk first. For years I could read everyone around me with scary accuracy; clients, strangers, my own friends - and I had absolutely no idea how to read myself. None. I felt like a victim of my own gift, if that makes sense. Professional psychic since 2007, and still standing in my own kitchen going “wait, is this guidance or am I just hungry?”
So if that’s you - if you’ve experienced your intuition before, if you know you’re intuitive, and you still feel lost the second it’s about your own life - I need you to hear me: you’re not broken, you were just never taught how this actually works.
Here’s the part that changes everything once it clicks: intuition isn’t some vague, mystical fog. It’s not always a butterfly landing on you or a blue balloon floating by (true story, by the way, and yes it confused the heck out of me). It comes through four very specific channels - your Clairs: clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, claircognizance. See, hear, feel, know. Same as your five physical senses, just the spiritual version. The literal language of your soul, and I promise you, you already speak it.
I’ll give you my favorite proof. About ten years ago I kept seeing the ocean. Over and over, out of nowhere. I brushed it off — “oh, I’m just thinking about my friend, she wants to go to the beach.” Three months later? We moved to California. I didn’t even clock it while it was happening, and I do this for a living! That’s how quiet and how real guidance actually is. It’s not always the movie moment. Sometimes it’s just... a picture that won’t leave you alone.
And here’s why I get genuinely fired up about this work: we are stepping into an era where the old way - outsourcing every decision to someone else, a friend, a forum, a stranger with a podcast - just isn’t going to cut it anymore. You are going to want to ask within. You’re going to need to. And when you don’t have a system for that yet, it’s terrifying. When you do? It’s the safest you’ll ever feel.
So - where do you go from here? I mean that literally. Pick your entry point. There’s no wrong door.

Seriously - any one of these is a yes. Start where you’re excited, not where you think you’re “supposed” to start. You don’t need more proof that you’re spiritual enough. You already are. You just need a system your beautiful, skeptical mind can finally trust. That’s what we’re building here, together.
One of the reasons I teach women to live a guided life for themselves, consciously, is this: guidance changes. And if you’re depending on someone else to hand it to you, you’re always one Wednesday behind Monday.
I have a client in Ireland. She’s going through a divorce.
On a Wednesday session, the guidance was specific: when she communicates with her soon-to-be ex-husband, the energy has to move from her to him, not the other way around. Because he’d found a way in, he was reaching her through the kids, pulling on the one channel she couldn’t close: her heart. And what landed on his side of that channel wasn’t a boundary, it was her open, loving, motherly energy - the very thing that made it so hard for her to stay clear about what she actually needed to say.
So the guidance that Wednesday was practical: don’t lead with the emotion. Not because the emotion was wrong, but because at the time, he would have used it against her.
By Monday, her grandmother had died.
A woman who has just lost someone she loved is not the same woman who walked into that Wednesday session. Grief doesn’t wait for a convenient moment to change you. It changes you on contact.
She reached out and asked if the guidance still held. Was she still supposed to communicate with him the same way?
It didn’t. Four days had turned her inside out. She was clearer than she’d been on Wednesday, and also, for the first time in a long while, genuinely vulnerable. Her inner child needed to be heard, not managed. The instruction that fit the woman guarding her heart from an ex-husband no longer fit the woman grieving her grandmother.
This is the part people miss when they think intuitive guidance is a download you get once and carry around like an answer key. It isn’t. It’s a relationship with your own inner knowing, and it has to be kept current because you are not static. Neither is your life.
Which is exactly why I never want a woman to need me, or anyone, to make her personal decisions for her.
You can come to a guide on a Wednesday. That’s real, and it has real value. But by Monday, you might be a different woman standing in a different situation, and the guidance you got four days ago may no longer be the guidance for the woman you are now. If the only channel you trust is someone else’s, you’re always waiting for permission to catch up to your own life.
This is what I actually teach - not a static reading you carry around like scripture, but the skill of staying in real-time contact with your own guidance. So that when something shifts - grief, a diagnosis, a door closing, a grandmother dying on a Monday - you can ask again, hear the new answer, and trust it, without waiting for Wednesday to come back around.
Your intuition was never broken. You just were never taught how to use it consciously, for yourself, in real time.
That’s the whole practice.
