Ying yang zhang, 26, was kidnapped, tortured, raped and murdered in june 2017. She was a visiting scholar at the university of illinois studying crop sciences. The defendant, brent christensen, is charged with kidnapping, rape and murder. Christensen was also a student at the university and had a goal in mind that day.
