This week, Jarek continues our King and His Kingdom series in Matthew 18:1–9, where Jesus confronts our obsession with greatness and status. Using vivid imagery about cutting off limbs and gouging out eyes, Jesus invites us to take sin seriously—not by mutilation, but by transformation. Eric unpacks how the way of the kingdom is not about achieving significance but embracing insignificance, humility, and dependence. Through personal reflection and the story of King Edward VIII, he reminds us that we all have “letters” from Jesus warning us to address what could otherwise destroy us. True greatness comes not from power or perfection, but from learning to be lowly, repentant, and teachable like a child.
