The American missionary, Samuel Zwemer said this:
“There is no mystery in heaven or earth so great as this - a suffering Deity, an almighty Saviour nailed to a Cross.”
Not only is Jesus’ crucifixion a hard thing for us to understand – but it’s a hard thing for us to swallow – because we must come to terms with the fact that it is our sin that put Jesus on the cross.
