The Kingdom of Forgiveness - Luke 17:1-18:14

Listen Later

This message is part of our series The Way of the Kingdom, a journey through Luke 12–19 where Jesus shows us what it means to live as his disciples in a world that’s not our home.
In this talk, The Kingdom of Forgiveness, Jesus calls us into the costly but life-giving way of repentance, rebuke, and forgiveness. He warns that causing others to stumble is deadly serious, yet shows that the threshold of the kingdom is forgiveness—reconciliation with God that overflows into reconciliation with one another. Along the way, he teaches that faith, even as small as a mustard seed, is enough to forgive, to endure, and to serve as unworthy yet grateful servants of the King.
From the healed Samaritan leper who returns in gratitude, to the warnings about apathy like in the days of Noah and Lot, Luke 17–18 reveals that God’s kingdom is marked by humility, persistence, and readiness. Forgiveness is not weakness—it is the very heartbeat of the gospel.
If you’ve ever wrestled with bitterness, reconciliation, or how to live out grace in broken relationships, this passage speaks straight to the heart. Jesus shows us that forgiveness is not optional—it is the way of the kingdom, and it is the way He has loved us first.
