Outstanding read!
I was totally enthralled from beginning to end! My only disappointment is having to wait for the next book in this series.
The kings highway
Loved this book. Didn't want to put it down. I would recommend it to all ages. Can't wait for next book.
Earthâs a whole new world & nothing like Eden
This is a new dystopian adventure series that surprisingly gripped me fast and held me furiously till the end. I love Caryl McAdoo historical Christian fiction, and was nearly as engrossed in this futuristic melee. Caryl McAdoo turns a Texas town story into an end times-like thriller from the git-go. McKenzie & Coop are left at home with older brother Jackson as all power and electronics cease to function. Itâs a bit more modern than Jerry B Jenkins âLeft Behindâ series which based events on Biblical prophecy. McAdoo draws on Survivalistsâ (Preppersâ) current mindsets for this futuristic story picture. The youthsâ only escape route is a 100 mile road to âMeemsâ & âPops.â What theyâre about to face will feel more like a million miles of Hades.
Thugs, pit bull, kidnappers, divine intervention aka miracle, drug runners, wild animal threats, murders, (that just gets them to the city limits) are all a part of this YA story with teenage primary characters, banded by circumstance into ârag tag survivalists.â They trek to a destination unknowing of what will be found, if intact, over miles where rules of law has turned extinct. Itâs gripping, but worth the read for those enjoying this type of futuristic thriller; with a sprinkling of a Christian thread.
A few preview pages of âThe Sixth Trumpetâ, 2nd of the âDays of Dread Trilogyâ suggest some of the young group will return into the havoc in search of a lost parent.

Loved This Book!!!
Absolutely loved this first book of the three book series! I am looking so forward to reading the next one!
Jackson the oldest brother of a sister McKenzie and brother Cooper, finds that they are left alone in a Texas apartment after a bazaar outage of all power; cars, electricity, utilities. The journey begins after mom leaves for work and doesn't return after 4 days. Jackson implements a journey to head to their grandparents house about 100 mile from their present location. This book was a non stop adventure that I could not put down until the words "The End." There is a little sneak peek at the end of the book for the next book! I would recommend this book for all those who enjoy dystopian reads.
