China plays a critical role in the Green Energy Transition as a primary supplier of solar panels and batteries. Despite China's pledge towards net zero, its actions speak much louder than its promises. For example, China fast-tracked 106 gigawatts of coal-fired power capacity this year, the highest rate since 2015.


An Italian researcher discovered that China uses coal-burning facilities to make 80 percent of the world's solar panels. Even more disturbing, these panels are made by Uighur Muslims in forced labor camps.
