Mary, the mother of the Lord Jesus has been put by some in a place of godhood today. The scripture certainly doesn't make the argument that Mary was a perfect god, but she was willing to be a servant and that is all the Lord asks of any of us who will follow Him. "Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word." (Luke 1:38)
